Department of the Study of Religion and Comparative Research carries out research in the fields of the general study of religion, history of religion, philosophy of religion, contemporary religious change, history of philosophy and literary studies. The Department also conducts interdisciplinary research activities.

 

Research interests of members of the Department cover the following areas:
• Philosophy of religion (particularly Christian religion)
• General study of religion
• Modern philosophy
• Rationality in religion and philosophy, rationality of social life
• History of gnosis, Gnosticism, neognosis (theosophy, anthroposophy)
• Relations between literature and philosophy, literature and gnosis
• Christian mysticism
• Problems of religious language
• Cognitive theories of religion
