Department of the Study of Religion and Comparative Research carries out research in the fields of the general study of religion, history of religion, philosophy of religion, contemporary religious change, history of philosophy and literary studies. The Department also conducts interdisciplinary research activities.

• Rationality in religion and philosophy, rationality of social life
• History of gnosis, Gnosticism, neognosis (theosophy, anthroposophy)
• Relations between literature and philosophy, literature and gnosis
• Christian mysticism
• Problems of religious language
• Cognitive theories of religion
